Mir2
Installation & Performance
Smack Mellon Gallery, Brooklyn, NY
October 2001
"The constructed artificial environments created by Mir2 initiated a dialogue
between activity and sculpture on a life size scale. Drawing heavily from pop
culture interpretations of life propelled by technology, Mir2 used sculptural
form as the shaper of space, specifically living space, and living as the shaper
of sculptural form. As cosmonauts, we used our bodies as yardsticks and our actions
as tools to create structures that are most meaningful in conjunction with the
human figure, as often as not supplied by one of the artists hanging from a strap
15 feet overhead. "
